This small painting is the sketch for 32 degrees 35 minutes 36 seconds N, 080 degrees 17 minutes 35 seconds W. There is quite a difference between the two in terms of color. I spent 3 weeks working on the paintings on sight in rather high temperatures When this was painted it had just rained and the Resurrection Fern shined brightly in the forest. By the time I started the second painted the fern had dried up. This happened a couple of times and it found it funny to set up easel and there would a different scene.
