The eye shown less sees more.  Brian Rutenburg loves this phrase.  Does it work that way for you?  I am hoping that with these paintings the viewer will think less about art and more about an experience.

The small icebergs are from all over.  The shore paintings are from along the Eastern Seaboard  Most are plein air oil sketches and were used to create larger paintings.  These little works retain the vigor and vitality of working out in the seascape and landscape.  Prices are under $400 and are eligible for the site wide life time 10% discount for future purchases.   All of these paintings come framed.

Paintings from a voyage to Antarctica.  We were able to spend nearly a month sailing south along the coast of the Antarctic Peninsula.

Paintings from 3 voyages to Greenland.  Our furthest north was 71 degrees 30 minutes, just a little north of where Rockwell Kent spent 2 years painting the ice and life of the north.  Also included are paintings from 7 voyages to Labrador.  Icebergs are addictive.

Seabirds are often the forgotten birds, some spend years at sea only coming to land when time to breed.  Puffins are among the toughest, they winter offshore in frigid waters.  Our sails north and south mimic the flights of  Northern Gannets to some extent.  Arctic Terns baffle the imagination with their 40,000+ mile journeys.  Slowly I am adding shore and coastal  birds to the collection.  My bird head series has been quite challenging and exciting, I line them up like portraits of family members.

     Paintings of the coast.  For me, these are paintings of coming home.
